Azalea Petal Blight

A fungal disease that attacks Azalea spp and cultivars. The disease is spread by windblown spore and once the symptoms are identified control is often too late. Affected plants will have flowers that appear to be water soaked with petals a brown colour. Flowers will not fall from affected plants readily and tend to stick to foliage.

Some susceptible species: Rhododendrons and Azaleas

Control:  Spray with Trisolfan at first sign of bud colour. Repeat applications may be necessary as part of an ongoing control program. Avoid overhead watering of flowers.
