Mealy Bugs

These insects can be at times be detrimental to plant life, though mealy bug control can be achieved.

Mealy bugs are the small white figures.

This insect prefers an environment where conditions are protected from the natural elements predominately nil to minimal air movement. They swell in numbers in the right conditions and then control is required as the plant will show signs of distress.

Control: This can be achieved through making a mix of warm soapy water and sponging clean both sides  the leaves. This will not only help remove the mealy bug but it will clean the leaf surface, thus allowing the plant to attract as much natural light as possible, to carry out the photosynthetic process.
